Infant Growth and Development
The Infant Growth and Development course will cover concepts such as infant weight gain, the use of growth charts, infant behaviour in relation to breastfeeding patterns and postnatal depression.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course the participant should be able to:
- identify appropriate and inappropriate weight gain
- discuss the use of internationally recognised growth charts
- describe newborn and early postnatal period behaviour in relation to breastfeeding patterns, and
- demonstrate knowledge of the significance of the relationship between postnatal depression, infant growth and breastfeeding.

Target Audience
Any clinical or non-clinical employee of a health institution who is required to have an understanding of breastfeeding practice. This can include non-clinical staff (such as cleaners, cooks etc) through to nurses, midwives, doctors and lactation consultants.
Accreditation
This course has been endorsed by the Australian College of Midwives and attracts 1 MidPLUS and 1L CERPs point upon successful completion.
