Antepartum Haemorrhage (APH)

This course has been developed in partnership with IntelliLearn out of many years of presentations, workshops and on-line activities involving midwives, obstetricians, GP's and students.

This course covers key areas of Antepartum Haemorrhage including its definition, associated conditions, and management. Upon successful completion of the associated quiz, 3 Australian College of Midwives (MidPLUS) points will be awarded.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course you should be able to:

  • appropriately manage an Rh negative woman with respect to antiD requirements
  • demonstrate in a mock or "fire drill" situation an appropriate approach to the management of APH
  • use the Resource Materials and feedback aspect of the self test facilities to ensure a satisfactory understanding of the key issues relating to APH
  • achieve an appropriate score in the corresponding quiz allowing the printing of a certificate of quiz completion
  • understand the significance of certain CTG changes relevant to APH
  • be aware of the essential requirements for appropriate casenote documentation of the management of APH, and
  • use the information in this module to prepare for their own clinical assessment.
